Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 14, 2026
Our Commitment
Sigils Of The Aeon is committed to ensuring that our music platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features across the platform:
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements — including navigation links, buttons, music player controls, and form fields — are fully operable via keyboard alone. A visible focus indicator is displayed on all focusable elements. Users can press Tab to move forward through interactive elements and Shift+Tab to move backward.
A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass the navigation bar and jump directly to the main content area.
Screen Reader Support
All images include descriptive alt attributes. Interactive controls use appropriate ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels and roles. The music player announces playback state changes to assistive technologies. Form inputs are associated with descriptive labels.
Colour Contrast
Our dark theme is designed with sufficient colour contrast ratios to meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Primary text uses light tones against our dark background to ensure legibility.
Responsive Design
The platform is fully responsive and works across a range of devices and screen sizes, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers. Content reflows appropriately at different viewport widths without requiring horizontal scrolling.
Text Resizing
Text can be resized up to 200% using browser zoom without loss of content or functionality. We use relative font size units (rem/em) throughout the interface.
Reduced Motion
We respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users who have indicated a preference for reduced motion in their operating system settings will see animations minimised or disabled.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the platform may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. Known areas of ongoing improvement include:
- Embedded third-party streaming widgets (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) are controlled by their respective providers and may not fully conform to our accessibility standards.
- Some complex interactive components such as the music player timeline scrubber are being enhanced for improved screen reader announcements.
We are actively working to address these limitations in future updates.
Compatibility
Sigils Of The Aeon is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and browsers:
| Assistive Technology | Browser |
|---|---|
| NVDA (Windows) | Chrome, Firefox |
| JAWS (Windows) | Chrome, Edge |
| VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) | Safari |
